I can remember being in the basement of our home which we had converted into a recording studio.

I was teaching piano and working on music when this simply gorgeous melody came into my heart.

I thought it sounded like a theme for a symphony, but I did not have time to work on it. I just wrote it down.

That was in the early nineties, and I have never tired of it. So gentle and loving, it makes my heart turn to the God of all grace and comfort.

How very faithful He has been to me.

Some friends had asked me to play for their wedding. It was fun but I did not have a song to dedicate to them...then.

I did have some ideas, and played a rough draft for the ceremony.

Months later I was invited to a baby shower.

I was working on the sleep CD and told the mother-to-be that I had finished a song for her baby and the family but the CD was not finished.

To Joshua with love. "Love in Bloom".

It has been selected as a "top five" on the classical review. I have listened to this countless times and never tire of it.

This was one of the lullabies that came into my heart when living with friends after I returned from Costa Rica.

It was also forwarded to Europe.

I was pushing very hard with music and just life in general and not eating very well.

My younger son had come from the tropics and had to do some shopping at IKEA. I had never been there so we set out on an adventure.

I was on overload after walking through the enormous warehouse. Actually, I was on overload before going :)

I had never seen so many  things and my mind was spinning.

He purchased many things for his home and then we went to the check stand. He had forgotten something and told me to wait in line and he'd be right back.

I kept coming closer and closer to the register, and he was no where in sight.

I should have gotten out of line and let a couple of people go ahead, and I think I did that once or twice.

But finally, I just went through, paid for his stuff and moved ahead when he appeared.

He was upset because of something having to do with receipts and taxes. It was not a happy time, and I proceeded outside and burst into tears.

I felt so awful, and got into the car. I heard the Lord speak in my heart. "Nancy, Nancy" with such love and so gentle. It really comforted me.

Then the melody came and I grabbed a piece of paper and begin to write it out.

After my son piled purchases into the car, I told him what had happened. He said "AHHHHH" (He is a feeler also) and proceeded to the bank to he could repay me.

I called it "IKEA Lullaby" at first, and a few days later the title came, "Just Because". That is so fitting. Just because He loves us soo sooo much, just because.....

"Just Because" was another song chosen on the top three on the classical rating.  A while later my son emailed me that there had been quite a bit of interest about a certain song, and it was this one.

Once again I was sitting out in the church parking lot when a friend knocked on the window.

I rolled it down to show him a brand new song, another lullaby that had just come into my heart.

It sounded like the words were singing "Go to sleep my little one".

When we were recording it in the studio, the engineer began to yawn and so did I. We began to laugh about what if working on music to put people to sleep, we ourselves fell asleep.

It was late and it was very funny at the time. It is very soothing.

Once again, this was when I was working on songs to enter for the lullabies promotion.

I woke up one morning with the melody and words "Go to sleep..." I think the Lord has a wonderful sense of humor.

This was the best critiqued of the three songs that were promoted.

It is gentle and shows the loving-kindness of the Lord.
