The story behind the music - HeartCry
Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:43PM I was preparing for an upcoming performance at the grand opening of the Rose City restaurant at the Portland Airport, and I wanted to compose a song or two specifically for the occasion. I wanted to portray the feeling of tenderness mixed with passion and set it to an easy-listening jazz style.
As the pieces began to come together I realized that they had a touch of eclectic Latin and Hungarian flavor to them. By the time I played for the opening of the restaurant, I realized that another CD had been birthed! I decided to include the first song I composed as an adult in 1979, and it became the title song, HeartCry.
The illustration on the CD insert of the puzzle piece is a picture of the culmination of the events leading to this album, me playing at the opening of the restaurant. It’s my hope and prayer that the very fiber of these melodies will bring refreshing and relaxation to you.
