The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. At the end of the book of Ecclesiastes, it states, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep His commandments; to do this is the whole duty of man."
Solomon was given so much yet he lived for himself, and found life very empty. We can either live for ourselves, and wind up feeling like life has no meaning and purpose — it is empty. Or we can follow the principles of the Kingdom of God, and be empty of ourselves, our self-gratification, selfish ambitions, self-glory, conceit, forsaking all... filled to overflowing with the power of God and His eternal riches.
O dear Heavenly Father, how we love and adore You. Thank You for Your word that teaches us how to walk and where true pleasure really is. Help us to totally unzip our hearts and empty all the "stuff" we thought was so important and receive the greatest treasures of Your eternal Kingdom. Reign in our hearts Lord. Show us those things in our life that would keep us from being poor in spirit. Help us to walk in humility and reverence before You. In Jesus name, amen.
Have a wonderful day in the Lord special ones. You are truly loved.
